PerrysBurgers: The Burger That Ruined All Other Burgers (In the Best Way)
Some meals are good. Some are memorable. And then there are those rare, magical meals that permanently reset your expectations. For us—and soon, very likely, for you—that meal came from a small, unassuming spot in downtown Perrysburg, Ohio: PerrysBurgers.

PerrysBurgers Review
We always stay in Perrysburg when visiting the Toledo Zoo, and on our very first trip, we decided to explore the charming downtown area for dinner. It just so happened to be one of their weekly farmers’ markets. The streets were packed, the food truck lines were endless, and the idea of eating while standing shoulder-to-shoulder with a crowd wasn’t especially appealing. We were hungry, tired, and honestly just hoping to sit down.
That’s when we ducked into a modest little restaurant with two empty seats waiting for us—literally the last ones. We had no idea that this spontaneous decision would lead us to the best burger we’ve ever eaten.

Our Favorite Hamburger
We ordered two of their signature PerrysBurgers: an 8-ounce patty made with certified Angus beef, topped with cheddar cheese, shaved romaine, pickles, tomato, and a perfectly balanced mustard aioli, all tucked into a buttery, toasted bun. It sounded good. It looked good. But nothing prepared us for that first bite.
The burger was unbelievably juicy, deeply flavorful, and shockingly fresh. The quality of the beef was unmistakable—clean, rich, and so satisfying that it didn’t need gimmicks or overload to shine. This wasn’t just a great burger; it was the burger. From that moment on, every burger we’ve eaten anywhere else has been compared to the Perrysburger—and years later, nothing has come close.

Best Sweet Potato Fries
And the fries? Just as unforgettable.
Each burger comes with fresh-cut, unlimited French fries, or you can upgrade to sweet potato fries. We’ve tried both (multiple times), and honestly, you can’t go wrong. The classic fries are crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and served in a portion generous enough that seconds feel unnecessary—though they’re always there if you want them.
The sweet potato fries, however, deserve their own love letter. Thick, perfectly fried wedges paired with a creamy maple mayonnaise, they are hands-down the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had. These are the fries I think about whenever I crave sweet potato fries anywhere else—and they never quite measure up.

Since that first visit, PerrysBurgers has become a must-stop for us. We plan our trips around it. We stop every time we visit the Toledo Zoo. We’ve even gone out of our way—detouring on drives to Michigan or heading home from the Cleveland Zoo—just to enjoy another Perrysburger. That’s how good it is.
If you find yourself anywhere near Perrysburg, do yourself a favor and stop in. Grab a seat (or wait for one—it’s worth it), order the Perrysburger, and take that first bite. Chances are, you’ll walk out already planning your return visit—and quietly comparing every burger you eat after that to the one you just had.
Trust me. Some burgers are worth the detour. 🍔
