You’ll start your adventure by making an online reservation (this is a must!) Arrive at your designated time and prepare for a minimum of one hour of pure animal bliss.
We suggest allocating more time (we spent 5 hours!) to fully savor this sweet experience.
Purchase a bag of feed at the alpaca boutique or gift shop and embark on a self-guided tour. You’ll be amazed by the variety of animals roaming the farm.
A Menagerie of Adorable Animals
Majestic Meadows started as an alpaca farm owned by Jeff and Faye Farley but has grown to feature a diverse array of animals.
We had a chance to speak to the owners and learned how much care and effort goes into this unique petting zoo. The love for these animals is evident in the entire staff.
As we strolled through the grounds, we encountered:
- fluffy alpacas
- adorable pot-bellied pigs
- miniature horses
- red kangaroos and wallabies
- Scottish highland cows
- playful Asian claw-toed otters
- curious capybaras

Sweet Alpaca Encounters
The highlight of any visit will undoubtedly be the expansive field filled with friendly alpacas. We walked right out among these gentle creatures, feeding and petting them to our hearts’ content.
Even your most timid child will feel at ease around these sweet, woolly animals. On average, the alpacas are 3 feet tall so they are not intimidatingly tall.
Don’t forget your camera – these photogenic alpacas are more than happy to pose for a selfie with you and your family.
Extra Sweet Animal Encounters
For an extra special treat, we indulged in some up-close animal encounters that left us with memories as sweet as honey.
Capybara Playtime
When we arrived in the morning on a weekday in the spring, our first stop was the Capybara building. We were the only two inside with them and they were so gentle and allowed us to pet them. What a treat!
They soon moved outside to enjoy splashing and playing in their large pond. It was a delight watching them enjoy the water.
If you visit during a busier time, consider purchasing a capybara encounter for some guaranteed interaction with these charming creatures.
Otterly Adorable Experience
The sweetest part of our day was undoubtedly our 30-minute encounter with the Asian small-clawed otters. These playful little critters climbed all over us, their antics leaving us in stitches. It was hard not to fall in love with their curious nature and boundless energy.
Prickly but Pleasant Porcupines
During our animal encounter, we had the unique opportunity to feed prehensile-tailed porcupines. As one hung from the ceiling ropes, it gently took a piece of sweet potato from my hand with its tiny paw and held onto my hand with its other paw – an unexpectedly adorable moment!
Armadillo Cuddles
To top off our animal adventure, we even got to pet and hold an armadillo. It’s not every day you get to snuggle with one of these armored cuties!

Farm Babies
For an extra dose of cuteness, be sure to visit during the spring when baby animals are often born. We were lucky enough to witness newborn goats and a precious albino wallaby – it was a sight to behold!
We also got an extra special encounter with a pair of 3-month-old otters. So much cuteness!
