Three Must-Try Restaurants in Charming Perrysburg, Ohio
Perrysburg is one of those towns that instantly makes you slow down and smile. Located just south of Toledo along the scenic Maumee River, it’s a beautifully preserved community with tree-lined streets, historic buildings, and a welcoming small-town feel. The heart of downtown runs along Louisiana Avenue, where you’ll find a delightful mix of mom-and-pop shops and locally loved restaurants.

Anytime we’re traveling up or down I-75, we make it a point to stop in Perrysburg.
Our routine is simple and perfect: enjoy a great meal downtown, then take a leisurely stroll through Riverside Park at the end of Louisiana Avenue. The park winds along the river and is the ideal place to burn off a big meal—or at least pretend you are.

And speaking of big meals, these are three casual, must-try restaurants we always recommend.
They’re perfect for lunch or dinner, and each offers something a little different—but all deliver on flavor.

PerrysBurgers
PerrysBurgers serves the best hamburgers we’ve ever eaten—no exaggeration. The burgers are juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, with high-quality beef that truly stands out. Everything tastes fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and indulgent in the best possible way.

Zingos Mediterranean Restaurant Review
If you’re looking for a quick, satisfying, and flavorful meal, Zingos Mediterranean is a fantastic choice. Their menu is packed with Mediterranean favorites like gyros, kebobs, falafel, chicken tawook, tabbouli, and more.
We’ve eaten at Zingos several times, and we always come back to their gyros. Our go-to is the Original Gyro, made with tender slices of gyro meat, tomato, lettuce, and topped with a cool cucumber sauce (red onion optional). You can have it wrapped in a soft pita or order it “Zingo Style” on a thin, grilled pita. You honestly can’t go wrong either way.
You can enjoy your gyro on its own or choose their Pick-A-Side option, which includes classic choices like hummus and pita chips, a cup of soup, small Greek salad, tabbouli, fattoush, house salad, grape leaves, or rice pilaf. It’s refreshing to see a Mediterranean restaurant skip French fries entirely and stick with more traditional sides.
The hummus with crispy pita chips is my favorite, while Jim never passes up the stuffed grape leaves. Both are excellent and full of flavor. Don’t forget to grab a piece of Baklava to enjoy after your meal. You won’t regret it!

Swig Charcuterie & Suds Restaurant Review
We originally wandered into Swig one day when PerrysBurgers was closed, hoping for a charcuterie board piled high with meats and cheeses—only to discover they no longer offer them. I’ll admit, I was disappointed at first. The menu leaned more toward classic bar food: burgers, wings, hot dogs and sausages, sandwiches, and salads.
But then I ordered the BLT with sweet potato tots—and everything changed.
The BLT was outstanding, piled high with bacon, juicy slices of fresh summer tomatoes, and crisp lettuce. The bread was toasted perfectly, and the portion of bacon was generous. As good as the sandwich was, the real star of the meal was the sweet potato tots. I didn’t think anything could rival the sweet potato wedges at PerrysBurgers, but these little tots were incredible. They come with Swig Sweet Sauce for dipping, which is delicious, but honestly, the tots are so flavorful they don’t even need it.
Jim ordered a burger and was very pleased. If PerrysBurgers weren’t directly across the street, Swig would absolutely be his go-to spot in Perrysburg for a burger. When we returned to dine again, I happily repeated my BLT order, while Jim chose the New York–style Corned Beef Reuben (Swig corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss, “The Sauce,” and marbled rye), which he thoroughly enjoyed.
One of our favorite things about Swig is the large outdoor patio. On a warm day, it’s a wonderful place to relax, enjoy a meal, and soak in the laid-back Perrysburg vibe.
If you’re passing through northwest Ohio—or just looking for a charming town with great food—Perrysburg is well worth the stop. Come hungry, take your time, and don’t forget to walk it off along the river.
